Several years ago, Emily got her Masters in performance and interactive art, and found herself enamored of the process of making her portfolio website. She then studied up on the basics of web design and obtained a position working as a web designer and graphic designer at a clothing boutique. After completing a series of freelance web and graphic design projects, she worked as a front end web developer at an advertising company building Wordpress Themes. She is currently working as a web developer for the California Department of Transportation, Caltrans. Emily has a keen interest in responsive web design, UX, and front-end web development libraries; she works hard to continually update her skills.
Emily's academic work has focused on media theory and interactive art. Having taught 2D animation and presented at international conferences, Emily has persued both academic and industry work. She supports community driven art and technology projects by serving on the board of directors at Davis Makerspace in Davis, CA and serving on the board of directors at A1labarts, a non-profit art gallery in Knoxville, TN.
